Practical support.
We want to help veterans navigate existing services, understand their options and find a sensible way forward.
We appreciate anyone who wants to help Veterans Backbone get off the ground. Seriously. It means a lot.
But we're still building the foundations, and we'd rather get those right before asking anybody to part with their money.
Veterans Backbone is not yet a registered charity, our support services have not launched, and we're not currently accepting donations through this website.
When we're ready to introduce fundraising through the website, we'll explain clearly how it works and what the money will support.
Our initial goal is to establish a community-based support service for veterans, beginning locally.
We're developing the governance, safeguarding arrangements, systems and partnerships needed to deliver that support responsibly.
Future funding may help us build the services, resources and opportunities we want Veterans Backbone to offer.
But we're not going to pretend we've already achieved things that haven't happened yet.
We want to help veterans navigate existing services, understand their options and find a sensible way forward.
Our plans include helping veterans connect with the right organisations, rather than leaving them to chase everything on their own.
Longer term, we want to create opportunities for connection, shared experiences, friendship and the occasional questionable joke.
You can still learn about our plans, share the project with others or get in touch about potential future collaboration.
There are plenty of ways to encourage something worthwhile while it's getting started.
Different journeys.
Same direction. ♥
We're working towards something that can genuinely help veterans.
We intend to introduce fundraising options when the organisation is ready and the necessary arrangements are in place.
